PRIVACY POLICY
What we collect, why we collect it, who processes it and the choices you have.
Version 1.1Effective August 14, 2026
01Scope
This policy explains how Matrix Betz handles personal information when you visit the site, create an account or purchase a membership. It covers only what we actually do today; if our practices change, this page and its version number change with them.
02Information we collect
- Account information: email address, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), display name and account creation date.
- Profile and membership information: membership tier, access status and any manual access grant recorded by an administrator.
- Purchase information: subscription and order status received from our checkout provider. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
- Support and communications: messages you send us and our replies.
- Consent records: the terms, privacy and age/jurisdiction confirmations you give, with the time they were given.
- Technical information: information your browser sends automatically, such as IP address and user agent, and local storage used to remember your age confirmation.
03Why we use it
- To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
- To provide the membership content you paid for and enforce access levels.
- To process and reconcile purchases, renewals and cancellations through our checkout provider.
- To respond to support, billing and legal enquiries.
- To protect the service against fraud, abuse, credential sharing and unauthorised redistribution.
- To meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.
- To send marketing messages only if you separately opt in.
04Payments and Whop
Checkout, billing and subscription management are handled by our third-party payment and membership provider (Whop) and its payment processors. When you buy, you provide payment details directly to them under their terms and privacy policy. We receive confirmation of purchase and subscription status, not your card number.
05Fraud, trial abuse and security signals
Matrix Pro includes a free trial, so we take limited, proportionate steps to stop the same person redeeming it repeatedly. When you sign up, start a trial or begin checkout, we record security signals server-side:
- A normalised form of your email address (lowercased, with provider-specific aliasing such as +tags and dots removed) so obvious aliases of the same mailbox are recognised.
- A one-way, salted hash of your IP address, browser user agent and a random first-party device identifier stored in your browser. We store the hashes, not the raw values, and they cannot be reversed back into an address or device.
- A one-way hash of the payment identity reported by our checkout provider, so a card or provider account cannot claim more than one trial.
- A record of trial eligibility decisions, the reason for each decision, and any manual review by our team.
- Counts of sign-up, sign-in and checkout attempts over short time windows, used for rate limiting and bot protection.
We also refuse free trials to disposable or temporary email domains. These checks are used only for fraud prevention, security and enforcing one trial per customer — never for advertising or profiling. A blocked trial never blocks paid access: Matrix Pro and the Day Pass remain available. If you believe a decision was wrong, contact us and a person will review it and can override it.
06Cookies, storage and analytics
We use browser storage that is necessary to run the service — keeping you signed in and remembering your age confirmation. If and when we add analytics or advertising technology, this policy and our Cookie Policy will be updated to name the tools and describe your choices. We do not claim to run any analytics or tracking product that is not listed there.
07Service providers and cross-border processing
We rely on service providers to run the service, including our hosting and database/ authentication platform, our checkout provider, and our email delivery provider. These providers may store or process information outside your country, including in the United States. That means the information can be subject to the laws of those countries, including lawful access requests.
We share personal information with these providers only as needed to operate the service, or where required by law or to protect our legal rights. We do not sell personal information.
08Security
Access to member data is controlled by database row-level security rules, and premium content is authorised on the server rather than in the browser. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not visible to us. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim any certification, audit or standard that we have not actually obtained.
09Retention
We keep account and membership records for as long as your account exists and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, accounting, dispute-resolution and fraud-prevention purposes. Support messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the matter and any follow-up.
10Your rights and choices
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your account and associated data, subject to records we must keep by law.
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time, without affecting your membership.
- Complain to your local privacy regulator — in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner or your provincial regulator.
To exercise any of these, email legal@matrixbetz.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
